Shortage of STEM experts

STEM experts (i.e. STEM academics) are desperately sought after. Various reports agree that after a slight decline due to coronavirus, the number of missing STEM experts has increased significantly again in Germany.

This shortage is hitting the German economy at a time of major upheaval: digitization, decarbonization, demographics and de-globalization.

International Candidates

The situation is very different in other parts of the world.

Very well-trained and experienced STEM experts are available and are very interested in continuing their careers in Germany.

However, the biggest shortcoming and very frequent exclusion criterion is a lack of German language skills.

Dual Integration

This is where the principle of Dual Integration comes into play.

Dual Integration means that DUALINTEG and an interested STEM expert agree on a temporary collaboration that begins at the STEM expert's home location. During this collaboration, the STEM expert takes on work assignments that are processed from the home office.

At the same time, the STEM expert begins learning German. Sufficient time and financial support is provided for this.

Contractual Relationship

During Dual Integration, the selected candidate is employed in their home country by an Employer of Record (EoR)*, with whom DUALINTEG in turn concludes a contract.

The contractual relationship described here supports compliance with legal regulations in the countries concerned.

Placement with a German employer

During the Dual Integration process, DUALINTEG introduces the STEM expert to German companies that are currently looking for a suitable specialist.

DUALINTEG draws on over 30 years of experience in personnel placement and can access an extensive network of contacts in companies in all industries in Germany.

The clearly defined goal is a signed employment contract for the STEM expert with a German employer.

Moving to Germany

Until an employment contract is available and sufficient knowledge of German is acquired, the time is used to fulfill all other requirements:

• Obtaining a work permit (Blue Card)
• Proof of missing certificates
• Completing official formalities
• Finding accommodation
• Transfer to Germany
